Under the direction of the Office Chief, Office of Transit Planning, the incumbent is responsible for planning, organizing, and completing the work of the Transit Policy Implementation Branch and supervising/overseeing professional staff. The incumbent is responsible for leading development and implementation of the Directors Policy for Transit; coordinating with District Transit Representatives; supporting development and implementation of the Statewide Transit Plan; developing and recommending actions in response to federal and state transportation planning legislation and regulations; developing and recommending actions for transit integration into Overall Work Plans. The incumbent performs difficult and complex planning and research assignments, working independently and as a leader and a team member. The incumbent works in a cooperative, integrated, and on-going manner with internal and external stakeholders; and identifies and develops policy opportunities to maintain high visibility and credibility for Transit Planning efforts.
