Revise, maintain and respond to inquiries on the Drainage Manual, Drainage Design Guide, drainage related Standard Plans and Specifications. Coordinate these documents with other design manuals to ensure consistency and compliance with the policy and procedures managed by other Sections. This requires attendance at the statewide District Drainage Engineer’s meetings and working with the District Offices and their Consultants to address drainage issues and concerns.
Assist with drainage engineering studies involving data acquisition and analysis. Apply thorough engineering judgement in identifying relevant findings and conclusions that lead to recommendations in updating drainage design methodology and/or policy from these studies.
Serve as a technical advisor to Central Office staff, the District Offices and Consultants related to drainage policy rules, criteria manuals, guidelines and standards.
Assist with developing and delivering training courses in drainage design procedures intended for the District Offices and their Consultants.
Assist in identifying research needs to improve statewide drainage policy and procedures in support of the Department’s Work Program.
Participates in Quality Assurance Reviews (QARs) for Drainage policy and procedures.
