Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) is currently seeking an IT Network and Telecom Senior Specialist to implement, manage, and serve as an agency subject matter expert for all monitoring, troubleshooting, diagnostics, analytics, and analysis tools used to maintain various business-critical systems and networks. The IT Network and Telecom Senior Specialist is the highest-level authority for WSDOT in the areas of network equipment reporting, purchasing, and inventory management. This position utilizes expert knowledge of network monitoring, routing, switching, Windows and Linux servers, .Net and Java code, IIS, and network architecture to act as the lead in troubleshooting difficult outages that impact agency business. This position has high level, WSDOT enterprise knowledge and grasps the overall impact of design and administration of mission critical, proactive network monitoring systems. This position is responsible for developing agency strategy regarding monitoring and inventory control systems and is the agency spokesperson monitoring and asset purchasing/management, including specifying hardware and software solutions that best fit operational business practices and customer needs.
