Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) is seeking an automated program system specialist for our Highways Division located in Boise. This position is responsible for the administration and operation of the ITS 511 system for all users of the software. This position will evaluate current system needs, monitor system performance, and coordinate the development of new process and workflows, as well as train new hires and training refreshers to existing employees.

Example of Duties:
Plan improvements to existing ITS 511 automated systems as well as, future priorities and processes to be automated. Analyze different alternatives and coordinate with other business units as needed. Develop scopes and specifications for system improvements and upgrades.
Evaluate how well system works in meeting business goals, keeping up with changes in software, automation, workflow, and changing organizational needs.
Monitor system to track and assess performance, find bottlenecks and gather information for planning and evaluation.
Work with stakeholders to solve problems and issues as well as implement changes. Ensuring the right people are involved for maximum organization efficiency, and that needs are met.
Coordinate the development of new processes and workflows required by business needs. Test and assess results and resolution. Create and roll out training, documentation, and manual updates.
Work with end users to solve problems on their day-to-day work, as well as help them though workflow issues.
Provide training, and training materials, to new hires so they can get up to speed using ITS 511 systems, and provide refreshment training as needed.
Monitor overall ITS 511 system performance and coordinate with vendor to assist in resolving issues.
Make decisions regarding data correction and changes to meet the business process, and public needs.
Periodically update and maintain operational data templates to reflect business practices.
Monitor data entered by system operators to ensure timeliness, accuracy, completeness, and clarity.
Respond to all comments, questions, and complaints from the general public regarding the ITS 511 system.  Responses will be timely, complete, helpful, accurate, and courteous.
Occasional travel, both in-state and out of state, to present information to various audiences on Idaho’s ITS 511 system.
Submit trouble tickets to IT and to automated system contractors for bug resolution. Work with project managers and technical staff to ensure timely, complete, and satisfactory resolution.
Produce reports describing monthly system usage by the public, system performance, and ITD district operator performance.

Minimum Qualifications:

Experience:
Interpreting and applying laws and regulations
Analyzing system output data and data integrity
Researching, identifying, and independently resolving automated case processing problems
Providing technical assistance to the program’s automated system users
Translating technical material into easily understandable oral and written communications
Some knowledge of training methods
