This announcement will be used to fill a current Buyer, Senior position in our Business and Support Management team. This position is located at our Headquarters location in Boise, ID. No remote work will be considered. Applicant must be able to work in Boise HQ’s location.
Note: This position requires a background investigation before a final job offer is made.
Example of Duties
Purchase supplies, services, material, and equipment;
Research and perform value analysis on products, services, and equipment;
Determine product, equipment, service requirements, and methods of acquisition;
Prepare specifications, select vendors and request written bids/telephone quotes on purchases within delegated authority;
Review and evaluate bids;
Record bid information including vendor price, payment terms, and delivery;
Prepare RFI and RFQ’s;
Prepare bids and RFP’s which may include value analysis, life cycle costing, and weighted value procedures;
Advise users about products, service availability, specification preparation, policies and procedures and legal requirements established for procurement;
Analyze quality, price, source of supply, delivery date, shipping charges and product cost;
Provide advice, training, and consultation on methods, procedures, and department requirements;
Prepare correspondence and ensures effective public relations;
Attention to detail and excellent writing skills will be required.
Some knowledge of:
Life-cycle costing principles
Performing detailed review of RFI, RFP, purchasing invoices, purchase orders, formal bids, contracts, and requisitions to ensure conformance with policies and procedures
Preparing, evaluating, and completing specifications for products and services
Interpreting and applying public/governmental/private purchasing procedures
Experience with purchasing and/or using heavy equipment typically used in transportation activities (snowplow trucks, trailers, loaders, excavators, etc.);
CPPB or CPPO certification;
Customer service experience with demonstrated ability to listen, communicate clearly, and problem solve;
Effectively manage time with little supervision including prioritization of assigned work while meeting the demands of multiple customers.
