Job Description:
The Transportation Engineer II position is technical engineering work involving the performance of complex engineering duties for MaineDOT’s Regional Program. The Transportation Engineer II will be introduced to project management principles and advanced technical engineering duties and responsibilities.
Winter duties will include performing estimating and design, while summer duties may involve construction inspection, working on active construction and paving projects. The person in this position may provide supervision to other technical staff and act as construction resident on selected projects.
To be minimally qualified for this position candidates must provide evidence of the following experience:
Licensure as a Professional Engineer which includes at least two (2) years of work experience which demonstrates independent design, engineering analysis based on established standards, and progressively responsible work overseeing complex engineering projects with increased accountability.
Licensing/Registration/Certification Requirements: (These must be met by all employees prior to attaining permanent status in this class).
Licensure as a professional engineer as issued by the Maine State Board of Licensure for Professional Engineers.
