Cost Estimator Engineer

This position leads and manages Metro District cost estimating activities.  The position ensures application of consistent cost estimate process and procedures, ensures that all cost estimates are accurate, keeps abreast of state-of-the-art developments in cost estimation, and provides leadership in developing this expertise as a Metro District core competency.  The work products include completing/reviewing cost estimates for programming, preliminary design, and contract lettings.  Develop conceptual design comparative cost estimates to assist MnDOT in determining the best value alternative.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Engineer Senior Minimum Qualifications: 
•    Licensure as a professional civil engineer with the Minnesota Board of Architecture, Engineering, Land Surveying, Landscape Architecture, Geoscience and Interior Design (AELSLAGID) or ability to obtain licensure through reciprocity.

Engineer Graduate 2 Minimum Qualifications:
•   A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited college or university AND two years of post-graduation civil engineering work OR a Master’s degree in Civil Engineering  from an accredited college/university or equivalent AND one year of post-graduation civil engineering work.
•  A passing score on the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam
