Engineer Senior/ Engineer 2 Graduate

Up to $96,486/annually

Assist the Regional Transportation Management Center (RTMC) in advancing the Intelligent Work Zone (IWZ) program, providing E-ZPass operations support. Review construction plans, implement IWZ plans, and assist with managing MnDOT’s ramp metering system and other active traffic management systems.  Shifts at the RTMC Operations Center may occasionally start at 6:00 AM or last until 7:00 PM. Project and contract management experience and the ability to work independently on technical issues is necessary in this full-time position.

Minimum Qualifications for Engineer Senior:

To qualify for Engineer Senior, applicants must meet all the following:

Licensure as a professional Civil Engineer with the Minnesota Board of Architecture, Engineering, Land Surveying, Landscape Architecture, Geoscience, and Interior Design (AELSLAGID) or ability to obtain licensure through Comity (Reciprocity). (If obtaining licensure through Comity, a temporary permit from AELSLAGID must be provided to MnDOT HR prior to starting employment.)
A bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited college or university.
Valid Class D Driver’s License.
Minimum Qualifications for Engineer 2 Graduate:

To qualify for Engineer 2 Graduate, applicants must meet all the following:

A bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited college or university.
A passing score on the Fundamentals of Engineering exam.
Two years post-graduate civil engineering work

A master’s degree in Civil Engineering from ABET accredited college or university substitutes for one year of post-graduate civil engineering work.
Engineer Senior & Engineer 2 Graduate resumes must also clearly demonstrate:

Knowledge of principles, practices and methods of data collection, research, and analysis sufficient to evaluate and measure the program and/or operations.
In addition to the preceding minimum qualifications, you will be assessed on the following if interviewed:

Human relations skills sufficient to build constructive relationships, work cooperatively with internal and external customers, manage direct and indirect reports, and implement project and program objectives.

Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate clearly and concisely sufficient to give direction, facilitate meetings, make presentations, and answer project specific and policy questions both verbally and in writing.

Engineer 2 Graduate Salary Range: $25.83 – $38.08/hourly; $53,933 – $79,511/annually
