Engineer 2 Graduate
Up to $116,197/annually

As a Bridge Design Engineer, analyze and design new and existing DOT structures and assist in the preparation of plans and special provisions for new bridges, bridge widenings, reconstructions, bridge overlays, and other structures such as retaining walls, sound walls, and hydraulic structures.

Minimum Qualifications:
Engineer Senior Minimum Qualifications:
- Licensure as a professional civil engineer with the Minnesota Board of Architecture, Engineering, Land Surveying, Landscape Architecture, Geoscience and Interior Design (AELSLAGID) or ability to obtain licensure through reciprocity.
- Knowledge of structural engineering practices sufficient to understand and appropriately apply design specifications.
- Knowledge and application of mathematics and geometry sufficient to perform calculations.
- Knowledge of AASHTO Bridge Design Specifications, Guide Specifications, and MnDOT design standards.
- Computer skills sufficient to use structural analysis and bridge design software.
- Demonstrated ability to collect, combine, and organize technical information and construction requirements into oral and written reports.
Engineer 2 Graduate Minimum Qualifications:
A Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited college or university and two years of post-graduation civil engineering work.
OR
A Master’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited college or university and one-year post-graduation civil engineering work.
AND
- Completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering exam.
- Knowledge of structural engineering practices sufficient to understand and appropriately apply design specifications.
- Knowledge and application of mathematics and geometry sufficient to perform calculations.
- Knowledge of AASHTO Bridge Design Specifications, Guide Specifications, and MnDOT design standards.
- Computer skills sufficient to use structural analysis and bridge design software.
- Demonstrated ability to collect, combine, and organize technical information and construction requirements into oral and written reports.
