NEW HIGHER SALARY: $37,782 – $66,120
 
The Challenge
We are looking for a skilled mechanics to join our Kinston Equipment team.

In this role, you will:

  • Service, repair, rebuild, and diagnose mechanical systems for gas/diesel-powered automotive, heavy equipment, and power tools.
  • Operate a motor vehicle & fuel truck.
  • Perform skilled mechanical work, including the following systems:
    Preventive maintenance
    Brakes (Air & Hydraulic)
    Steering
    Tires and tubes
    Wheels
    Rims & Hubs
    Transmissions (automatic & manual)
    Charging systems
    Cranking systems
    Ignition systems
    Lighting systems
    Cooling systems
    Exhaust systems
    Fuel systems
    Power units
    Hydraulics
    Air Conditioning Instruments
    Air Intake Systems

What You Bring

  • A complete set of mechanic tools.
  • Class A Commercial Driver’s License with Tanker (N) endorsement. (Don’t Have It? STILL APPLY!  You can get it within 360 days of hire through our on-the-job training program).
  • Experience in performing preventive maintenance on 1+ of the following: light, medium, heavy-duty trucks, or heavy equipment.
  • Basic welding principles and application knowledge.
  • Experience diagnosing basic electrical systems and proper wiring repairs.
  • Basic hydraulic system repair experience, including component replacement and hoses.
  • Computer experience obtaining diagnostic and repair information.
  • Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle
  • Ability to repair and maintain automotive and heavy equipment and diagnose problems using diagnostic equipment.
  • Ability to prepare paperwork for employment and equipment repair.
  • Ability to understand written and verbal instructions.
  • Fitness to move parts and materials to repair and maintain equipment.
  • Ability to safely operate equipment for testing purposes.
  • You can work in indoor and outdoor environments.
  • Ability to demonstrate a commitment to a safe working environment by leading by example.
  • Ability to read and interpret Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) manuals, schematics, diagrams, and sketches.
  • Strength to move relatively heavy objects
  • Ability to work in emergency situations and bad weather.
  • Steel toe safety shoes.

Notes
We will conduct a pre-employment drug screening and background check for your past 3 years about controlled substances and alcohol testing.
We may require current certification by the EPA as a Type I, II, III, or Universal Technician.

Education & Experience
High School/GED diploma, and
2+ years of relevant experience, or
An equivalent combination of education and experience.
