New Higher Pay: $34,084 – $59,646
The Challenge
We are looking for an Engineering Technician to join our Bridge Maintenance team.
In this role, you will:
- Perform technical duties supporting engineers and other professionals in construction, materials testing, design, surveys and program/regulatory compliance.
- Conduct compliance and code inspections.
- Analyze field and engineering-related data.
- Perform materials testing.
- Conduct reviews, mediation, and design of plan.
- Analyze products and functions.
What you Bring
- Considerable knowledge and understanding of NCDOT concepts, practices, and theories used in highway construction.
- Experience maintaining detailed records and reports.
- Computer skills in Microsoft Office and using a laptop/iPad.
- Contract administration knowledge to ensure projects are constructed in accordance with NCDOT specifications, standard drawings, and policies.
- Math proficiency in functions, including algebra, geometry, & trigonometry.
- Ability to safely drive a State vehicle.
- Safety toe footwear.
Education and Experience
Associate’s degree in Engineering Technology, Survey Technology, or a related field; or
2+ years of engineering technician-related work; or
An equivalent combination of education and experience.
