Why does the job exist?
This position provides Desktop Technical Support and will serve as a Customer Service Liaison to the New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) end user community.
How does it get done?
Engage in functional technical duties such as managing help desk tickets, work on day-to-day support requests for desktop and peripheral hardware/software problem diagnosis and resolution; support specialized transportation applications; develop and maintain PC imaging processes; provide printer support; provide video conference support; provide audio/video support; coordinate and manage off-site conferences; research; purchasing; transporting; set up and operate equipment; provide basic user training for Office applications and conduct hardware/software research.

Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will have/be familiar with:
* M365;
* Windows 10 and 11;
* Remote access applications;
* Experience in customer support/service;
* Strong verbal and written communication skills; and
* Experience with Active Directory and other Microsoft Management Console snap-ins.
Minimum Qualification
High School Diploma or Equivalent and two (2) years of experience in providing technical support to end-users for computer hardware, software, and/or network related problems. Substitutions Apply. See Substitution Table below.

Employment Requirements
Must possess and maintain a valid New Mexico Driver’s License.
Working Conditions
State of New Mexico employees may be impacted by the Public Health Order dated December 19, 2022, which requires facilities licensed or certified by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (“CMS”), including all hospital types, long-term care facilities, nursing homes, hospice facilities and rehabilitation facilities, as well as assisted living facilities and adult day care settings, to adhere to all COVID-related requirements prescribed by CMS, including, but not limited to masking and staff vaccination.
Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage. Some travel may be required. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
