Highway Safety Improvement Program Planner

The Multimodal Planning and Programs Bureau of the New Mexico Department of Transportation Planning Division is hiring an Urban and Regional Planner-Advanced. This position is in the Highway Safety Improvement Program (HSIP) and under supervision, will lead planning outreach related to identification and scoping of safety projects and coordinate HSIP program funding applications. Other duties will include, staffing the NMDOT Safety Committee, monitoring the program budget and assisting with program reporting to the Federal Highway Administration. Additional duties include working with tribal and local public agencies in New Mexico, Metropolitan Planning Organizations, Regional Transportation Planning Organizations, NMDOT Districts and Design Centers to provide support for safety initiatives and infrastructure projects.
