This position manages the Programs Unit in the Multimodal Planning and Programs Bureau of the New Mexico Department of Transportation Planning Division. This position directly supervises two (2) full-time staff and indirectly supervises four (4) full-time staff. The Programs Unit is comprised of two (2) teams, each led by an Urban and Regional Planner Supervisor. One team includes the Government to Government Planning Liaisons, who work closely with the Metropolitan and Regional Transportation Planning Organizations in NM, including managing the federal grants that fund the Metropolitan and Regional Transportation Planning Organizations operations. The second team is the Active Transportation Programs team, which manages two federal funding programs: Transportation Alternatives and Recreational Trails. This team also includes the Bicycle/Pedestrian/Equestrian Coordinator and multimodal planning efforts. This position additionally assists the Bureau with the development and implementation of transportation plans, and other duties as assigned. Annual pay ranges from $68,302 – $109,283 depending on experience.
