The NM Dept of Transportation (NMDOT) is currently accepting applications for two (2) Program Coordinator II positions (#21293/ Job ID#150437) as part of the newly established Climate Action Team in the Research and Climate Bureau of the Planning Division of the NMDOT. The primary function of these two positions is to help the Department address and administer new federal and state transportation requirements, activities and programs related to climate change (including adaptation, resilience, mitigation and sustainability), both at the state and national levels. These positions will help administer federal programs including the PROTECT Formula Program, CMAQ and the Carbon Reduction Strategy and Program, as well as implement the Department’s Resilience Improvement Plan and contribute to efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from the transportation section. The Climate Action Program Coordinators will stay informed on all climate change/action issues, requirements and resources related to transportation at the state and national levels and work to integrate best practices into Department procedures and operations. The Program Coordinator II positions are also responsible for coordinating and collaborating with both internal Department and external customers, including other state agencies, on climate change/action issues related to transportation.
The ideal candidate will have experience in the following:
* Federal program and/or grant management experience.
* Familiarity with issues related to climate change/action including resilience, adaptation, sustainability and mitigation.
* Ability to create and track federal projects from inception to completion.
* Excellent communication skills (verbal/written).
* Working knowledge of state and federal contracts.
* Strong problem solving through analysis and evaluation of the facts.
This position is a pay band 75 with a salary range of $29.58 to $47.33 per hour and $61,531 to $94,449 annually. The position is located in Albuquerque and the posting closes 1/9/2025.
