Salary Range: $7,981 – $11,752

The role: 

Bring your engineering expertise to our Urban Mobility Office as a resident engineer – consultant projects! In this role, you will direct all activities necessary in developing outsourced contracts for highly complex highway construction projects and the contract administration of all Oregon Transportation Commission (OTC) approved construction contracts. Minimum qualifications:

A valid Professional Engineer’s (PE) license in civil, structural, or transportation-related engineering and three (3) years of journey level professional engineer experience.

Note: Three (3) years of journey level professional engineer experience is considered licensed experience only. If registered in another state, successful applicants will be required to obtain professional registration in Oregon within six months of hire.

Special qualifications:

Driving is an essential function of this position. You must have a valid driver license and an acceptable driving record. We will conduct pre-employment driving records checks on our final candidate(s). Your license does not have to be issued in Oregon to be considered.

  • Experience in construction inspection and administering complex transportation contracts.
  • Experience working on or managing transportation mega projects (more than $100 million).
  • Experience resolving conflicts and negotiating solutions between people with diverse perspectives.
  • Experience supporting and overseeing a diverse group of people.
  • Advanced engineering judgment and the ability to apply engineering principles in highly complex and controversial contract management situations.
  • Experience applying expertise in different engineering disciplines to identify and resolve unique and unusual contract administration problems.
