The role:  

Join our team in Region 1 as a program and funding manager! In this role, you will manage and lead unit employees. You will also play a crucial role in maintaining financial balances for the Statewide Transportation Improvement Programs (STIP), tracking approved and potential transactions, and ensuring timely and accurate STIP and Metropolitan Transportation Improvement Program (MTIP) amendments. A day in the life:

  • Manage processes, procedures and timelines for the development and resourcing of the Region 1 portion of the Statewide Transportation Improvement Program (STIP).
  • Develop, monitor, and report on available STIP funds and resources through tracking and regular reporting on the region’s program balances. Work with managers to identify funding needs and solutions.
  • Work with other managers to develop and oversee public and agency involvement of draft STIP materials including helping to prepare web content for internal and external sites and coordinate public meetings and open house events.
  • Coordinate the STIP and Metropolitan Transportation Improvement Program (MTIP) amendments and financial processes, including coordination with the Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO), other relevant agencies and the finance and budget division.
  • Help implement the Oregon Transportation Commission (OTC) project selection criteria and prioritization factors and assist in developing data management tools for tracking the project scoping process.
  • Monitor multiple grants and programs regarding financial performance against schedules and work plans.
  • Perform direct supervisory functions of the Region 1 STIP Coordination unit and the Region 1 Contract and Agreements unit including recruiting, hiring, coaching, evaluation, disciplinary actions and initiation of personnel actions, and prepare and monitor the unit budgets.

What we need:

Five years of lead work, supervision, or progressively related experience.

OR

Two years of related experience and a bachelor’s degree in a related field.

Driving is an essential function of this position. You must have a valid driver license and an acceptable driving record. We will conduct pre-employment driving records checks on our final candidate(s). Your license does not have to be issued in Oregon to be considered.
