Salary Range: $7,960 – $12,349

The role:

Are you a professional engineer with a passion for highway safety? Do you want to develop policy and manage statewide programs aimed at saving lives of drivers and people walking or biking on our highways and streets? We are recruiting for the state traffic safety engineer to join our team in Salem! As an agency expert, you will lead, guide and support advancing effective highway safety engineering efforts and assist the state traffic engineer by developing policy, programs and research related to advancing traffic safety engineering. Minimum qualifications:
A valid professional engineer’s (PE) license in civil, structural, or transportation-related engineering and three (3) years of journey level professional engineer experience.

Note: Three (3) years of journey level professional engineer experience is considered licensed experience only. If registered in another state, successful applicants will be required to obtain professional registration in Oregon within six months of hire.

Special qualifications:
Driving is an essential function of this position. You must have a valid driver license and an acceptable driving record. We will conduct pre-employment driving records checks on our final candidate(s). Your license does not have to be issued in Oregon to be considered.
