The role: 

Do you have experience working on roads, highways, bridges and freeways? We are currently recruiting for two positions on our Salem striping crew. As a highway maintenance specialist, you will work in a team to complete various striping projects to keep Oregon’s roads safe! Apply today!

A day in the life:

·       Perform manual labor and operate heavy and light equipment.

·       Use all types of hand tools.

·       Apply, maintain and replace roadway/highway striping and road markings.

·       Remove existing paint using sand blasting or grinding equipment.

·       Operate and maintain striping equipment and vehicles.

·       Work closely with hazardous materials such as epoxy, paints, thermoplastics, thinners, and acetones.

·       Collaborate with contractors to help determine layout of road markings and striping.

·       Work in and around heavy construction equipment and stay in compliance with safety policy.

·       Must be able to move around rough terrain, on uneven slopes and may need to lift up to 60 pounds.

·       May be required to be available for emergency calls 24 hours/day, 7 days a week, including evenings, weekends and holidays.

·       May need to travel throughout the region for various stripping projects.

Minimum qualifications:

One year of experience performing basic highway maintenance work;


Two years of general landscaping, maintenance, mechanical, farming, logging, and/or construction experience or training.


Special qualifications:

·       This position requires a maximum 45 minute response time to 2775 25th Street SE, Salem, OR 97302 for emergency call-outs.

·       Driving is an essential function of this position. You must have a valid driver license and an acceptable driving record. We will conduct pre-employment driving records checks on our final candidate(s). Your license does not have to be issued in Oregon to be considered.
