The SCDOT is seeking to fill the Director of Statewide Planning, whose duties include the following:
· Directing the development and implementation of regional programs including Regional Mobility, Active Transportation, State Planning and Research Work Program, and the Transportation Alternatives Program.
· Supervising the development of the Statewide Transportation Improvement Program (STIP) and maintenance of the program as required by state and federal laws, ensuring that the STIP and the Transportation Improvement Plan (TIP) are streamlined for efficiency and accuracy.
· Providing oversight to the administration and coordination of the Metropolitan Planning Organizations (MPOs) and Councils of Governments (COGs) to fulfill their federal and state transportation planning requirements.
· Providing oversight to planning fund allocations and invoicing.
· Reporting to monitor performance feedback of goals, objectives, and program targets.
· Ensuring the oversight and coordination for the MPO and COG Long-Range Transportation Plans, bike/ped plans, congestion management plans, etc.
Minimum and Additional Requirements
A bachelor’s degree and seven and one-half (7.5) years of relevant program management experience; or an approved acceptable equivalence. A valid motor vehicle operator’s license is required.
