POSITION HIGHLIGHTS
Full time/40 hrs per week
Shifts may include overtime and weekends, with work schedules on various shifts
Schedule:
Monday: 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM
Tuesday: 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM
Wednesday: 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM
Thursday: Off
Friday: Off
Saturday: Midnight to 8:00 AM
Sunday: Midnight to 8:00 AM
REQUIREMENTS
Candidates must indicate they hold a current and valid Driver’s License (CDL) in the “Licenses and Professional Certifications” section of the application
Incumbents in this class will be required to have a 30-mile residency from the posted job location
Candidates will be required to bring a copy of their Master Application at the time of interview
Candidates must show how they meet the required knowledge and experience on their application to proceed further in the hiring process
THE ROLE
The DOT Rest Area Attendant position will be responsible for:
Assisting the traveling public
Servicing people and vendors
Performing daily routine maintenance activities at the rest area, such as sweeping/mopping floors, washing windows, cleaning bathrooms, trash removal, picking litter, cleaning the canine area, mowing, tree trimming, brush cutting, maintenance of the parking areas and walkways, snow and ice removal from pedestrian areas
Notification of the supervisor/state police in the event of vandalism or illegal activity at the rest area location
Performing related duties as required
