The State of Connecticut, Department of Transportation (DOT), is now accepting applications for a Transportation Engineer 3 (Engineering) position, with DOT’s Bus Facility Electrification Program and Bus Technology Program, in the Bureau of Public Transportation, Office of Transit and Ridesharing. With the impacts of climate change being felt around the world, the State of Connecticut has committed to full electrification of bus transit and will transition diesel buses to battery-electric buses as the current fleet is replaced. Benefits of this change include reduced fuel consumption, vehicle emissions, and noise pollution.

POSITION HIGHLIGHTS
Full Time, 40 hours per week
Monday through Friday, First Shift
Location: Newington, CT
Hybrid (office/telework) may be available

THE ROLE
The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced environment that will assist with the electrification of transit fleets and facilities across the state, and development and deployment of new bus technology programs. The Transportation Engineer 3 will provide oversight and coordination of these programs with statewide impact and make decisions based on many variables which directly impact the outcome of the program.
