As the Assistant Resident Engineer – Land Use, you’ll serve as a key technical and managerial leader within the Louisa Residency. Your work will span everything from plan reviews and roadway design oversight to coordination with local governments, developers, and utility providers.
Assist the Residency Administrator or Engineer to ensure the coordination, integration and management of VDOT resources impacting a residency program. May serve as the focal point for services and primary contact or liaison for local governments on activities that impact the local geographic region. Administer VDOT land development activities in assigned geographic region under the advisory authority of the District Land Use Director regarding land use policies, procedures and guidelines. Manage resources and staff allocated to programs to accomplish objectives. Assist the Resident Engineer or Resident Administrator to ensure the management, coordination and integration of VDOT resources impacting residency operations and programs. May serve as the primary contact or liaison for local governments related to program areas. Administers residency projects and manages resources and staff to accomplish residency objectives while serving as the responsible charge engineer for residency.
