This position is physically located in Sandston, VA.
The selected candidate will serve in the Central Office Materials Division as an Engineer Program Manager Materials. The selected candidate will have Statewide Program Management Oversight of VDOT’s Concrete, Rebar, and Related Materials Quality and Laboratory Testing Program, as well as serve as the responsible charge engineer for designated program area.
Duties will include, but are not limited to: developing and updating specifications, policies, procedures and guidelines for statewide implementation and administration; establishing and supervising uniform job material acceptance, quality assurance monitoring, independent assurance sampling and testing, as well as inspection frequencies and procedures to be used in laboratories and in the field; reviewing contractor and supplier material data and setting guidelines for quality assurance acceptance programs; supervising technical staff in day-to-day testing and technical and administrative work; managing equipment and maintaining laboratory accreditation; collaborating on research projects; leading technical collaborative efforts with internal and external stakeholders statewide and participating in and leading national efforts related to the program materials.
