The Virginia Department of Transportation’s (VDOT) is excited to offer an opportunity to be an Engineer Senior Construction in the Central Office’s Construction Division.
The Construction Division is seeking a collaborative team member to provide programmatic guidance for the Department’s construction program. The successful candidate will support, train, and mentor Department staff on construction management best practices, constructability/bid-ability reviews, work zone safety, and environmental compliance. Duties include but are not limited to: assist in the programmatic monitoring and development of VDOT’s construction program; act as a resource for contract interpretation, claims avoidance and analysis; analyze, update, and develop Construction Division guidance documents and policies; develop constructability guidance; coordinate with Districts and other Central Office Divisions on improving work zone safety and environmental compliance; performing analysis and the development of reports; and preparing and presenting to senior internal and external stakeholders. The successful candidate will complete onsite project reviews and support other initiatives and functional areas of the Construction Division.
