Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) is currently seeking four talented and responsible real estate professionals to fill two (2) Property Management and two (2) Acquisition Specialist vacancies located in Lacey, WA. The Property Management positions are responsible for developing leases, and all terms and conditions contained therein. The individuals in these roles will create and implement plans to review, update and edit all leases that are out of compliance. The Acquisition positions will acquire, through negotiation under eminent domain, the real property necessary to deliver the WSDOT Olympic Region’s (OR) highway construction projects and the court mandated fish passage barrier removal projects. These tasks will involve working with region staff in multiple disciplines, HQ Real Estate Services (HQ RES), the Attorney General’s Office (AGO) and Federal Highways Administration (FHWA). Incumbents must understand the laws related to leasing as well as federal regulations and must be able to provide details to others within RES. Our top candidates must have exceptional communication skills as these positions interact with property owners including railroads and corporations, their legal counsels, consultants, property lienholders, other state and local agency personnel and the public.
