The Washington State Ferry (WSF) a Division of the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) is currently seeking a Port Engineer in the Vessel Engineering and Maintenance department. This position is responsible for the shoreside maintenance program support and engine crew supervision for assigned vessels. As the primary point of contact with the U.S. Coast Guard, the Maintenance Port Engineer provides oversight to ensure that the vessel is operated and maintained in accordance with all applicable safety rules and regulations, and coordinates regulatory visits and inspections. The Port Engineer directly supervises and provides leadership to licensed and unlicensed engine department professional marine engineers. As maintenance manager, the Port Engineer budgets and schedules vessel maintenance activities and manages the vessel’s preventive maintenance programs.
