Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) is currently seeking a Transportation Engineer 3 to serve as the Assistant Hydraulic Engineer for the Environmental Office, located in Spokane, WA. This position supports WSDOT’s mission and the Eastern Regional Environmental & Hydraulics Services Office by serving as a technical and regulatory specialist in the field of hydraulics. In this role, you will provide hydraulic related reports, reviews, and services required to support prioritized programming of the P3 Major Drainage Program for the preservation of our hydraulic facilities and compliance with environmental regulations including the Clean Water Act, National Environmental Policy Act, Washington State Hydraulic Code, State Environmental Policy Act, National Pollution Elimination System, and WSDOT policies. The Assistant Hydraulic Engineer acts independently as a region staff specialist to provide specialized services to construction and maintenance personnel, manage region wide culvert inventory, and assist the Region Hydraulic Engineer in prioritizing culverts to be repaired or replaced. The selected candidate will also provide design and construction assistance to the Region’s Project and Specialty Offices.
