Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) Bridge & Structures Office is currently seeking a registered structural engineer to serve as a Bridge Repair Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for detailed structural designs and preparation of plans for bridges that require repair recommendations and details for use by region bridge maintenance staff or contractors. This position will also serve as a Senior Lead Bridge Inspector, supporting WSDOT’s mission of providing safe, reliable, and cost-effective transportation by ensuring the safety and reliability of the bridges on the state highway system. This is accomplished by providing technical support to Bridge Preservation Office (BPO), regional bridge maintenance staff, and the Bridge Design Office (BDO) special structures group for repair, design, and maintenance activities on structures of monumental size and complexity, which includes curved steel plate and box girder bridges, floating bridges, cable-stayed and moveable bridges.
