Highway Maintenance Worker 2 (In-Training) – Region-Wide Crew | Multiple Positions

$4,320 – $5,812 Monthly

Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) is currently seeking multiple non-permanent Highway Maintenance Worker 2s (In-Training) to work on the Region-wide crew. These roles will be on the Region-wide Striping, Thermoplastics, Pavement Markings, or Workzone Traffic Control Crews. Under the direction of a Highway Maintenance Supervisor and Highway Maintenance Worker 3, these journey-level positions perform a variety of skilled maintenance tasks and are responsible for maintenance and repair of highways and highway structures to ensure the safe and efficient movement of people and commerce and may occasionally lead a crew in the absence of a Highway Maintenance Worker 3. They primarily work in the installation, removal, and maintenance of Raised Pavement Markings (RPM) and durable pavement markings; assist in the daily operations of the striping and plastics program; assist in sign maintenance; and may work with the regionwide Workzone traffic control which aids in setting up and maintaining a safe work zone for regionwide, statewide, and area crews. The safety of the traveling public and fellow employees is a high priority and must be considered in every decision and activity.
