Project Controller/Construction Engineer (TE3)

Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) is currently seeking a Transportation Engineer 3 to join the Port Angeles Project Engineering Office (PEO). This position supports the Department’s mission by leading a team of engineers and technicians in performing skilled engineering tasks in the development of Plans, Specifications, Estimates (PS&E), and the inspection and quality oversight of construction projects; and ensuring highway projects are designed and constructed in compliance with established standards. Reporting to the Design Build Site Manager (DBSM), this position acts as the office administration lead, providing support for design and construction with occasional role of leading design or construction teams. This position is critical to WSDOT’s long-term success by mentoring and providing on the job training for subordinate staff, assisting the PE and APE and DBSM with various aspects of project management, and representing WSDOT at public meetings, open houses, and with other stakeholders such as local agencies, contractors, consultants, and permitting agencies.
