Washington State Department of Transportation’s (WSDOT) South Central Region (SCR) is looking for a strategic and experienced leader to manage its region-wide specialized maintenance operations known as Area 5, which includes the Tri-Region Bridge Crew and the Raised Recessed Pavement Marking (RRPM) Crew. This position will be responsible for preserving and maintaining over 3,250 lane miles of highway infrastructure across 10 counties, including major mountain passes, bridges, and state-owned facilities. In this role, you will lead a team of 35 staff and oversee critical operations involving signals, signing, striping, traffic information systems, bridge maintenance, electrical and illumination systems, and emergency response. With a biennial budget of $7.6 million and a broad scope of responsibilities, this role plays a key part in ensuring the safety, reliability, and resilience of Washington’s transportation system.
