This position provides information technology (IT) support for Division of State Patrol (DSP) computers, applications, software, and peripherals. In addition, this position serves as the primary point of contact for the specific IT needs of the Division of State Patrol Academy (Fort McCoy, WI) facility and staff, to include IT support for learning management systems, classroom technology, and other technologies specific to the unique needs of the training facility. The incumbent will be member of a team that uses its collective expertise to provide IT support for the sworn officers, dispatchers and civilian staff of the Division of State Patrol.
This position is in schedule-range (07-34) with an annual salary of $56,160-$69,680, plus excellent benefits. A twelve-month probationary period is required. Pay for current state employees will be set in accordance with the Wisconsin State Compensation Plan.

Certain positions within this Department may allow remote/work from home flexibility for a portion of their work schedule, depending on the needs of the position and the work unit. For positions that do allow remote work flexibility, although residency in the State of WI is not required for permanent positions, it is not anticipated that working outside of WI or bordering cities will be allowed as positions may at times need to report to office locations in WI on short notice.
All state employees are required to report their COVID vaccination status, whether vaccinated or not, and must provide supporting documentation if vaccinated. Newly hired employees will be required to submit this information within their first two weeks of employment. At this time, those who are unvaccinated are subject to weekly COVID-19 testing protocols.
This position requires occasional travel to the State Patrol Academy located in Fort McCoy, WI.
Qualified applicants will have all the following:
• Experience providing basic IT user support for computers, applications, software, and associated peripherals.
• Experience utilizing IT problem solving resources (knowledge base, manuals, online resources, etc.).
• Experience or training with baseline computer security protocols.
In addition to having all the above, well qualified applicants will have one or more of the following:
• Experience or training providing hands-on or remote support for complex IT issues.
• Experience or training in computer imaging, software testing and installation, network and cloud storage, print servers, or SharePoint administration/use.
• Experience or training in the administration of learning management software or similar enterprise software.
• Experience or training in the setup, use or administration of classroom audio/visual technology.
