The WI Department of Transportation (WisDOT), Division of Transportation System Development (DTSD) is seeking two interested and qualified individuals to fill the Project Development Section Project Manager (Civil Engineer Transportation Advanced) vacancies in the North Central Region.

These full-time position can be headquartered in Wisconsin Rapids or Rhinelander.

Position Summary
This position functions as a Civil Engineer within the Project Development Section of the North Central Region performing the highest degree of independent discretion and judgment on transportation improvement projects in both the construction and design phases.  The position acts as a Project Manager in the design and construction of transportation improvement projects, conducting activities related to scoping, developing, monitoring, and reporting project schedules, budgets, issues and resources.  The Project Manager has primary responsibility for overall project quality. This position manages activities on multiple projects, including those of a highly complex nature for continuity in both design and construction phases.  This position serves as a resource and advisor to the supervisors and project leaders.  For less than 25% of the time, this position may also perform as a construction and/or design leader directing major complex projects and assist the team by advising and coaching team members on projects.

Salary Information
This position is in schedule-range 14-13 with an annual salary of $90,064 to $108,950, plus excellent benefits. A twelve month probationary period is required. Pay for current state employees will be set in accordance with the Wisconsin State Compensation Plan.

Job Details
This position requires the ability to travel independently statewide, potentially with overnight stays at remote locations.

WisDOT does not sponsor work visas.  Any appointment made will be contingent on the applicant being able to prove valid status to work in the United States.

Certain positions within this Department may allow remote/work from home flexibility for a portion of their work schedule, depending on the needs of the position and the work unit. This topic and any remote work flexibility that may be available will be discussed in more detail in the interview process. For permanent positions that allow remote work flexibility, Wisconsin residency is not required. However, it is not anticipated that working outside of Wisconsin (or bordering cities) will be allowed because positions may at times need to report to office locations in Wisconsin on short notice.

Qualifications
Qualified applicants will have experience with all the following:

A valid Professional Engineering registration and be able to obtain a Wisconsin PE registration within 3 months if PE registration is from another state.
