The WI Department of Transportation (WisDOT), Division of Transportation System Development (DTSD) is seeing an interested and qualified individual to fill a Real Estate Specialist Entry or Senior vacancy in the North Central Region!

This full-time position will be headquartered in Wisconsin Rapids.

Position Summary
This position applies knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures to complete low to moderate level complexity assignments. This position performs non-complex assignments in appraisal, negotiations, and property management. Assigned duties provide the individual with broader experience while accomplishing program objectives. Some duties and tasks may be controversial and sensitive in nature.

At the senior level, this position requires considerable knowledge and carries a significant amount of decision-making responsibility and accountability for actions taken. Duties and tasks at this level reflect variety and complexity, requiring specialized knowledge in dealing with political, legal, technical and policy issues.

Salary Information
At the entry level, this position is in schedule-range 07-04 with an annual salary of $52,000 – $60,320 plus excellent benefits.

At the senior level, this position is in schedule-range 07-03 with an annual salary of $58,240 -$72,800, plus excellent benefits.

A twelve month probationary period is required. Pay for current state employees will be set in accordance with the Wisconsin State Compensation Plan.

Job Details
This position requires the ability to obtain and hold a Notary Public Commission from the State of Wisconsin.

This position requires the ability to travel on an independent basis, including occasional statewide travel.

WisDOT does not sponsor work visas.  Any appointment made will be contingent on the applicant being able to prove valid status to work in the United States. WisDOT is not an E-verify employer.

Prior to any appointments for position(s) filled from this announcement, candidates may be subject to a comprehensive criminal background check which may include FBI fingerprinting.

This position offers a hybridized work schedule. The position will be headquartered at and required to work from the DTSD North Central Region office in Wisconsin Rapids at least two days per week. All employees working a hybrid work schedule are still expected to telework from within the state of Wisconsin. This topic will be discussed more at the time of the interview.

Qualifications
Qualified applicants at entry level will have experience with all the following:

  • Working with external partners, including using problem solving skills to resolve issues.
  • Handling multiple projects and/or tasks simultaneously.
  • Record keeping (tasks may include establishing and following filing procedures, tracking/logging data, etc.).
  • Working with computer programs (programs may include databases, spreadsheets, word processing software, etc.).

In addition to the above requirements, qualified applicants at the senior level will have experience with the following:

  • Working in real estate (experience may include property management, appraisal, real estate sales, title work research, real estate education, eminent domain real estate, survey, utility real estate, legal descriptions and plat maps, etc.)
